Preparing for the tests
Practice is essential.
There are books of example tests and practice papers available to read in the Careers and Employability Centre or to borrow from the university's learning centres. They are also available to purchase from retailers.
There are practice materials and also practice skills tests on the Get into Teaching website. As there are only four of each of the tests online, you will soon get used to the questions. It's recommended that you use these once you feel ready to sit your actual tests. This will give you a better feel for what it will be like on the day at the LearnDirect centre.
Several institutions offer free support sessions for the skills tests. It is advisable to check with the training providers directly. Some will also offer these as part of their open days programme (for example SHU open days can be found via shu.ac.uk/study-here/find-a-course/teach/why-hallam/qts-skills-tests
