Interviews

The purpose of an interview is to find out, through effective questioning, if you are the ideal candidate for a job. If you have been offered an interview, well done, you have already demonstrated that you have the necessary skills and abilities and the organisation are keen to find out more about you.

Alongside further analysis of your skills the interview will also allow the panel to find out more about your personality.

It is natural to feel nervous about interviews but there are many things you can do to make the process less scary.  Find out more about:

Practice your interview technique using Interview Simulator. We we also offer practice interview sessions to help you gain experience answering interview questions.

Practice interviews

This is a chance to practice in a formal interview setting followed by feedback designed to improve your performance and confidence. A choice of roles will be offered to you prior to the interview, or alternatively questions can be designed around a real interview you have coming up. The sessions take place at City and Collegiate Campus. Places are available on a first come first served basis. Contact us to book.

An opportunity to practise your interview skills and gain feedback, whether you are looking for work in the UK or abroad.

What happens during the sessions:

Student advisers will ask you a selection of interview questions and give you feedback on your

  • responses
  • technique
  • language
  • interview conduct

Interview rooms available in the Careers and Employability Centre for telephone/Skype interviews
